Book a pet sitter

Booking a pet sitter with Pet and Property Sitters is easy!  We will work with you to collect all the information we need in order to match you with the perfect sitter who you can work with for years to come!

It is always easier if you have dates for us to work with when making your first booking but we have had cases where our clients have preferred to meet a sitter before they have dates in mind.  This is absolutely fine, but we would then need to work with you to ensure that your chosen sitter is free when you need them! 

We will have a chat with you in order to get a good idea of your requirements.  This helps us to identify potential sitters for you.  Our first priority is finding the right person but we also take into consideration the distance that they will travel and whether the sit would be a good fit for them as we want everyone to be happy.  Many times over the years I've compared finding a pet sitter to a Dating Agency as it is so important to ensure that personalities are a good match to both our clients, sitters, and their pets! 

In order to place your booking we will ask you to return your Booking Form.  This provides us with your formal details, and an over view of your home including a list of your pets, their ages, quirks and requirements.  We will use this to get you set up on our system.

Once we have identified a sitter, or even a number of options, we contact you to tell you a little more about them.  Because we get to know our sitters properly we really can tell you what they are like, what their interests are, what experience they have and usually a few funny stories along the way!  If they sound like your cup of tea we then arrange for them to attend what we call a prelim visit.  This gives you, and your pets the opportunity to meet them.  They will be instructed not to rush your pets and to let them come and investigate in their own time!  You can then show your sitter your pets routine, feeding times, walks etc.  We provide a form to help you do this!  it is also important to show your sitter your home, where they are to sleep etc so that they can ensure that they bring the correct bedding.

In the unlikely event that you do not feel the sitter is for you, you do not have to say anything.  We will contact you afterwards to have a chat and talk over any issues and can even send another sitter out to meet you, if you choose.

More likely, you will be delighted with your sitter, and once we have confirmed that they are too (they are usually over the moon!) we will get the paperwork side of things finalised.  We charge a Booking Fee of £50.00 per booking in order to confirm the space in our diary.  This is due by return.

In the event of an emergency, or a sitter being taken ill we will work with you to replace them on a sit, wherever possible using your Booking Form details to arrange another prelim.  Should this not be possible, we will find a replacement who we can vouch for and get them to your property as soon as possible, ensuring cover remains while we do so.
